What Is Morsel Munk?

MorselMunk.com (Morsel Munk, LLC) is a store for outdoor enthusiasts, people who like to stretch their minds and build creativity, and most importantly for people who want to be young at heart. But we're more than a store, we're a resource. We help you find adventure. We help you create adventure. If we're lucky, we help you be young at heart.

At Morsel Munk, our mission is to motivate, and equip, people of all ages to exercise mind and body and be young at heart. Special emphasis on the young at heart part!

If you're hard core into any one sport, we're probably not the store for you.

If you take life too seriously, we may be the store for you. If you want to have fun, get outdoors, and/or be more creative, we ARE the store for you.

We'll help you lighten up and brighten up. If you think that statement has multiple meanings, you're absolutely right.

  • Every manufacturer, model, and type of outdoor gear
  • An intimidating environment
  • Anyone ever saying "Cleanup in aisle 3". (Right, we don't have a physical store. But if we did, we promise you would never hear those words uttered.)

Meet The Owners

To learn more about the culture and philosophy of MorselMunk.com, we'd like to introduce you to the Co-Captains (a.k.a. Owners), Scott and Brigitte Rouleau. There are very few sports or outdoor pursuits they haven't done themselves. Wakeboarding, hiking, backpacking, winter backpacking, camping, running (including 2 marathons), water skiing, biking, mountain biking, snow shoeing, walking, alpine skiing, snowboarding, street surfing, kayaking. And yes, they're the Jack (and Jill) of all trades...but they never get bored.

Letter From Scott

When someone says, "He's so cool!", what do you think of? Do you think of someone dressed a certain way, the ultimate in fashionable, hair all in place, and completely poised? That's not what comes to my mind. When I think of cool, I think of people who aren't afraid to be silly and wacky, people who laugh a lot - especially at themselves. I think of people who try new things and don't give up if they struggle the first time. I think of happy people, and people who love to make other people happy.

I challenge everyone to say "HI!" to people you meet on the street while taking a walk, or having dinner at a restaurant (yes, in public). You'll be amazed at the positive reactions - first a split second look of surprise (and perhaps bewilderment), then a face lit up with an ear-to-ear smile. And you can't help but feel good yourself.

Brigitte and I have made friends from around the world by talking to people in line. In line for roller coasters or restaurant tables. And our dearest family and friends all share our philosophy on life.

But being cool is more than that. It's having confidence in yourself, being comfortable with who you are. Besides the obvious physical benefits, I find that mastering new sports constantly builds or reinforces my confidence. Same for other pursuits, be they artistic, intellectual, you get the idea...

The coolest people I know are those who are confident and comfortable with themselves. That's what cool is about. It's not about how you look. Join me in redefining cool!

Letter From Brigitte

Among other lessons growing up, my family taught me to play sports. Mom was always active, serving as a great role model. Dad and my older brother taught me how to throw a baseball, swing a bat, play football, ride a bike, spike a volleyball...you get the idea. Dad's words still resonate as if he spoke them just yesterday: "You throw like a girl." "You hit like a girl." "You run like a girl." It never occurred to me to respond, "But I AM a girl."

Dad's words served their intended purpose - they pushed me harder and challenged me to be the best and strongest I can be. Of course, Dad knows that there's nothing wrong with playing like a girl. There are so many amazing female athletes and role models of all kinds.

The moral of this story is to not impose any limits on yourself, and don't let society impose any limits on you. Whether it's on the playing field, in the classroom, in your career, or in raising your family, be the best that you can be. Measure yourself not by others' standards, but by whether you're giving it all you've got. Encourage others to do the same. And tolerate all differences. Do this, and you will be an inspiration to those around you.

And remember. It's not, "You're good for a girl." It stops at, "You're good!".
